Picture Gallery

The history of the Picture Gallery on the SSRA website is a little confusing in hindsight.

For the first few years, pages for each year were maintained, and links to those can be found below. Limitations of the original hosting platform for the website meant that older galleries were sometimes removed to free up space on the server, and - perhaps inconsistently - reinstated when circumstances permitted.

By 2003, some of the images were appearing on the News pages, and in perhaps 2005 the Gallery was upgraded to use a photo gallery package, which was integrated within the site.

In 2008 a serious server crash at the hosting organisation took the website offline for a few days, and unfortunately all of the images from the Gallery were not able to be recovered from their backups. It appears now that at that point the site ceased to provide a separate Picture Gallery, and it was removed from the menu at the top. From that point onwards, images were only displayed within the News and other pages.

In addition, there were a few Picture Galleries hosted on the old STSF website, including the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games, 2004 CSF(ED) Championships and 2005 Commonwealth Championships. These do not appear to have been saved when that site was replaced in 2008.

In the spirit of maintaining this site as an archive, the original Picture Galleries up to the end of 2004 have been restored and are linked below, and an attempt has been made to reinstate, at least in part, the 2005 to 2007 Galleries, along with the images previously published on the STSF site up to 2006, sticking with the same simple format.
